Midgardians always have been so very careless. Not one bothered to notice the creature that moved between them. Dark and rather powerful. Loki had been chasing it out of curiosity. What would bring such an being to a worthless realm like Midgard?

He sauntered through the darkening park, passing humans with their dogs, noisy teenagers and their hideous melodies. Of course he had concealed himself, everything to escape Heimdall's all-seeing eyes.

The shadow seemed to move faster, intent on finding something, or someone.

who? Clint Barton; Ana Adams
when? Well before the Avengers assemble
what? a first encounter.

Finally, a break. Only two days between assignments, but hey, it was better than nothing, so Clint had settled in a small, moderately crappy hotel that wasn't too far off from the swing of things, appearing for all intents and purposes like your average backpacking traveller. His clothes matched that with how well-worn they were, and when he went out the next morning he carried nothing but his wallet and his shades.

The last few days had been decidedly too much hiding and too much killing people and Clint decided he needed distraction, but he was up too early, tension lingering in his muscles still. At least it was a nice morning, slightly chilly, prefacing a perhaps sunny, definitely warm day. So he strolled through the streets, finally lending a hand to the vendors at the farmer's market as he set up shop. Small talk. Normal people. Little things to root him in a world that wasn't full of secrets.

An hour later he'd bought a pound of cherries and had scaled a smaller building, setting up camp on top to eat. In his defense, at least he wasn't spitting cherry pits at passerbys. Just watching.

who? Ana Adams, Loki Laufeyson
when? Post Loki getting his butt thoroughly kicked
what? Ana shows him how she heals and perhaps gives him a lesson in compassion.

It'd been a quiet week. Business was it's usual self, the magical world was calm and Loki seemed to be taking a brief leave from her. That suited her fine. She needed the space especially since things with Luke were so rocky. They'd fought long and hard about matters and believe it or not, few of them concerned Loki.

So they took a break from each other, retreating to either side of the city to think. She remained in her shop, built up the stock in her pantry, bought some new tea and took some time out from the world. She tended to her writing, to her self, her dancing and her martial arts and soon started to feel better. More human and less.... Otherly.

It was good.

Ana was closing shop, shooing out the last customer when she felt a prickle of tell tale power. Loki. She knew it was too good to last

who? Ana Adams, her friend Luke McCoy & Loki Laufeyson
when? On a windy day, in a warehouse.
what? A clash of forces

Ana Adams hadn't been home that day. Loki had tried to pay a visit but he found the door locked. It was not that spending time with the young maiden was his number one priority, still the importance to have access to her abilities made him keep an eye on her. He did that through birds, through critters, even through regular mortals. Not all the time, of course. Especially now he had been standing in front of a closed door.

With a soft sigh he turned around again, tilting his head slightly as he closed his eyes. Ana had never been hard to find, traces of her aura were always around...

The god of mischief laced his fingers together and whispered a soft spell. His tall statue seemed to shrink a bit, his dark hair growing out, forming long curls. His face changed into something more feminine, also a bit older, wiser even. The suit he wore made place for black jeans and a tight, green top.

"Found you," he hummed, voice more of a purr than anything else. And in a flash Loki disappeared.

when? After his failed plan to rule Asgard, before the Chitauri. Travelling through realms, scheming like there's no tomorrow.
what? Snooping around in a bookstore

There weren't many things about the Midgardian dwellings that made Loki actually stop his tracks and turn his head. But the sight of that tiny bookshop, overshadowed by an overpopulated mall, was one that promised something. Knowledge, secrets, at least something that pique'd his interest. Maybe something that could come in handy when it would come to taking back what was rightfully his.

Loki simply shifted through the mortals around him, his image flickering from time to time until he made it to the front door. The corners of his mouth curled up into a small grin when he concluded that he definitely had been right about the place. It held a certain aura all the other shops definitely lacked (in every sense of the word). Maybe it could be something that would be able to work in his advantage, whatever was responsible for this atmosphere.

His long fingers curled around the doorknob before he pushed the door open, a little bell greeting him as he entered the bookstore. There was a hint of curiosity in his eyes when he looked around, scanning the place for that one thing that could be the reason for his visit in the first place.

Books everywhere, old ones showed in glass cabinets, others placed on shelves. With a soft thud the door closed behind him as he took a couple of steps further into the shop, eyes focusing as he started to read the titles written on the backs of some books.
